Forces Reunited and our patron Simon Weston support our Falkland Islanders.
Tensions over the Falkland Islands have risen during the run up to the 30th anniversary of the fight for the Islands in 1982.
Fishing vessels and supply ships have been boarded and impounded and the islanders constantly face harassment to their daily lives from their nearest neighbour, which has escalated since the discovery of oil locally.
Argentina is reasserting a historical claim to the islands despite the unanimous rejection of this claim by the Islanders who all regard themselves as British.
907 people on both sides lost their lives before the surrender of the Argentinean forces on the 14th June.
Simon Weston & Forces Reunited believe it is right & proper that the people who inhabit, raise their families and work on the islands have their own sovereignty and decide under whose rule they are governed.
